Congrats to the 2018 Juno Award Winners!

The 2018 Juno Awards wrapped up last night, and CIMA would like to extend our congratulations to the winners! Canada's independent music industry was well-represented with a total of 164 nominations. Out of the 42 awards received this weekend, 28 Junos were associated with the work of a Canadian independent label.


The Independent Label Breakdown

Nominations: 

Total nominations: 220

164 independent associated nominees (75%)

56 major label nominees (25%)

Winners:

28 of the winners were associated with an independent label

14 were solely majors

66.6% of the winners were associated with an independent label


CIMA’s would like to give a special shout-out to to our members who had artists win in a number of high profile categories including Artist of the Year, Pop Album of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, Adult Alternative Album of the Year, Indigenous Music Album of the Year, Contemporary Roots Album of the Year, and many more!
