Canadian Music Awards

Canadian Country Music Awards
Each year, the Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) honours its Members who have excelled during the past year, with a Canadian Country Music Award (Award). The Awards are handed out each fall during Country Music Week.

Canadian Folk Music Awards
The mission of the Canadian Folk Music Awards is to celebrate and promote Canadian folk music in all its forms. Until their creation in 2005, there existed no awards to celebrate the breadth and depth of folk music in Canada. Awards such as the Junos, East Coast Music Awards or the Western Canada Music Awards have a few categories that apply to folk and roots music but they offer only a restricted view of the genre. The judging process is similar to that of the two-stage elimination model used by the JUNOS via a randomly selected jury drawn from our community.

Canadian Music and Broadcast Industry Awards
It’s CMW’s biggest night – the annual industry celebration that puts the “vent” in event. It’s a raucous red-letter date on the industry calendar that fuels feuds, creates friendships and gives props to the pioneers and builders of our industry. It’s also been the site of some legendary musical reunions.

Canadian Music Hall of Fame
The Canadian Music Hall of Fame was established in 1978 and recognizes Canadian artists that have attained commercial success while having a positive impact on the Canadian music scene here at home and around the world.

Canadian Radio Music Awards
Each year, CMW lets the world know what’s coming next musically, via the CRMAs. A highly-anticipated showcase of “buzz” bands, playing for an audience of influential industry ears, the CRMAs have, over the years, amassed an astonishingly high batting average for predicting the emergence of big name acts. A rookie-of-the-year award driven by radio-play, it is the most youthful and energized awards show CMW has to offer.

Canadian Songwriters’ Hall of Fame
The purpose of the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame is to raise the awareness of Canadians and others regarding the richness of our musical heritage and to celebrate excellence in the art of Canadian songwriting by honouring those writers and songs which have had a profound influence on our lives and cultural identity, as well as those individuals who have contributed significantly to the preservation and/or development of this legacy.

East Coast Music Awards

There is no better time to hone your networking skills and develop new contacts than at this annual event. The East Coast Music Awards celebrate and honour outstanding contributions to Atlantic Canadian Music. SIRIUSXM Indie Awards
It’s the Grammys-of-the-Indie scene. It’s the place where Canada’s – and the world’s – emerging artists are recognized. Where the best of them perform and are honoured for their artistry and fan devotion. It’s a must-attend for music fans and tastemakers. And it’s all broadcast live to air on SiriusXM Satellite Radio on Friday, March 22.

West Coast Music Awards
While the Western Canada Music Week and Awards is a new event, there is a strong sense of history, a legacy of the successes of both Prairie Music Week and the West Coast Music Awards. The vision of developing the infrastructure of a regional music industry is intact and now shared across western Canada.
