Pre-Great Escape ‘Canadian Blast’ Showcase in London

Ahead of the popular official ‘Canadian Blast’ showcase event at the Great Escape Festival later this month, the Canadian Independent Music Association (CIMA) and Music Export Canada partners MusicOntario/The Ontario Media Development Corporation (OMDC) and Pop Montreal bring you four acts from Ontario and Quebec, ahead of their Great Escape performances.

The Canadian Blast is a platform for Canada’s rising independent musicians to perform at music conventions all over the world such as SXSW, Texas, Reeperbahn Festival, Hamburg, Iceland Airwaves and of course, TGE. The chosen acts represent some of the brightest components in Canada’s thriving independent music scene.

This special event represents Eastern Canada’s contribution to the Canadian Blast this year, and is an opportunity to catch four immensely talented international artists with careers firmly in the ascension.

19:00 Terra Lightfoot- expert finger-picking and distorted, hook-heavy melodies

19:45 Pyramid Tropic - percussive, synth-based dance music multi-instrumentalist duo

20:30 Wake Island - electronic band founded by Lebanese duo Philippe Manasseh and Nadim Maghzal in Montreal

21:15 LA Foster - sample­rich, beat­-heavy songs, paired with intense emotional vocals
