CIMA is proud to announce that country artist Paul Brandt has achieved Road Gold status due to his last wildly successful Canadian tour. An award will be given to Paul at CIMA headquarters later this fall. In the meantime, his representatives at United Talent Agency have reached out to comment on the good news.

“Over his 20 year career Paul Brandt has become a top headliner and box office draw,” says Jack Ross, President and COO, United Talent Agency. "It is exciting to see Paul’s touring success being recognized by CIMA’s Road Gold.”

Road Gold is a certification for artists who sell at least 25,000 tickets within a 12-month period. It recognizes the dedication and hard work that musicians and their support teams put into connecting with Canadian audiences.

Paul Brandt is the most awarded male Canadian country artist in history. Although he first considered a career in medicine and worked at the Alberta Children’s Hospital as a Registered Nurse, Paul was also passionate about writing lyrics and music from an early age. Performing since childhood at events such as the Calgary Exhibition and Stampede, Paul eventually signed a seven-album deal with Warner/Reprise Records at the age of 21.

In 2001, he founded his own independent label, Brand-T Records. Life came full-circle again in 2012 when Paul was asked to headline the same Calgary Stampede he had performed at as an aspiring songwriter, this time to over 200,000 paying customers for a span of 11 days.

Paul lives with his wife Liz and their two children on a ranch in the foothills of Alberta’s Rocky Mountains. They are committed to meeting the needs of the poorest of the world’s poor through their Buckspring Foundation. Paul now joins the company of previous Road Gold recipients including Matt Anderson, the Dead South and his own 2011 tour-mate, Dean Brody.
