For the first time ever CIMA, in partnership with CARAS, will be bringing in 10 International Buyers to The JUNO Awards in Saskatoon from March 11-15 with a primary focus on Germany and a secondary focus on the UK.

In terms of business opportunities, CIMA will be hosting an International Brunch on Saturday, March 14 from 9:30-11:30AM (CST) at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Bessborough. Featuring agents and bookers from the UK and Germany, selected participants will have the opportunity to network with industry professionals from the European live music sector. The cost to participate in this event is 30$ and space is very limited. Priority will be given to members and partners of CIMA. CIMA has been gathering showcase information from our members who are attending the JUNOS in order to ensure that the invited international delegates have the opportunity to attend these various showcases and events throughout the week.

CIMA will also be partnering with SaskMusic to present a Lunch & Learn on Friday, March 13 at Winston’s English Pub & Grill from 11:30AM-1:30PM. The focus will be on release strategies and will feature the following speakers: Erin Kinghorn (eEK! Productions), Mike Denney (MDM Recordings/Acronym Records), Evan Newman (Outside Music) and Stephanie Hutchinson (Chronograph Records). Tim Neumann (Germany) Agent - BTA Tim Neumann started working in the music business in 2010 as a venue booker and tour managing bands before he joined Landstreicher Booking in Cologne as a promoter/booking agent in 2015.

Evelyn Sieber (Germany) Head of Showcase Programme - Reeperbahn Evelyn Sieber is Head of Showcase Programme at Reeperbahn Festival, one of the most important meeting places for the music industry worldwide. The annual event in Hamburg, Germany presents some 600 concerts by international artists, about half of them are showcases presented by international partners. Additionally Evelyn is in charge of putting together international projects, including the Reeperbahn Festival International Spin-Offs to Beijing and Accra. Before starting at Reeperbahn Festival in 2010, she was Director of Production & Special Projects at WOMEX - the World Music Expo. 

 Bjorn Pfarr (Germany) Director Music Programme - Inferno/Reeperbahn Born in 1977 in Hamburg, Germany, is head of music programme and alternate director of Hamburg-based Reeperbahn Festival – Europe’s leading 4-day club festival and conference, designed for a public audience and professionals active in the music and creative digital industries. Reeperbahn Festival is hosting more than 900 events including concerts, arts, film, word, education, sessions, showcases, networkings, meetings as well as awards at about 90 venues.

Rebecca Kemp (UK) Agent - BPA Live / One of Rebecca’s aims is to enable musicians to focus on music. Beginning as a tour manager in 2008, Rebecca joined BPA-Live agency in August 2013 on a freelance basis working with Director Bob Paterson, alongside her TM work. Having an established working relationship with BPA-Live has enabled Rebecca to continue assisting and representing Canadian artists who desire to tour the UK, while also offering tour logistics support.

Stevie Freeman (UK) CEO - Americana Music Association UK Stevie joined the AMA-UK team in 2012 when it was founded and became CEO in 2014. She developed the inaugural UK Americana Awards, the first event was held in January 2016, and has taken place each year since in the form of AmericanaFest UK, now a 3 day conference, 2 evening showcase festival and the UK Americana Awards. Stevie saw a gap in the Official Charts for the Americana genre, and worked with the Official Charts Company to make the chart a reality. The Americana Album Chart launched in January 2016. The Association continues to grow in strength and numbers, working throughout the year to develop opportunities for artist members from across the UK, USA Canada and EU. 

Martin Elbourne (UK) Senior Booker/Advisor - Glastonbury Festival Artistic Director - The Great Escape / Co-Founder WOMAD, The Great Escape, M for Montreal, NH7 Festival (India), DMZ Peace Train Festival (South Korea), Music Cities Convention, and Senior Booker/Advisor for Glastonbury Festival, as well as Artistic Director for The Great Escape. Co-Chairperson DMZ Peace Train, advisor on music strategy to various governments, speaker at conferences around the world and currently writing an autobiography. Previously 40 plus years of periods of being promoter, writer, agent (New Order, Smiths) publisher, record label, booker, advisor, and creator thinker.
