Music Export Canada Presents: Canadian Blast at New Colossus Festival
This March, CIMA will be conducting our first Business and Showcase mission to the New Colossus Festival in New York City from March 11-15, 2020. The festival and conference, in its second year, is a celebration of independent music from around the world with approximately 120 bands performing at seven venues around the city.
On Thursday March 12 CIMA, in partnership with The New Colossus Festival and the Consulate General of Canada in New York, will run three music industry-focused B2B round table breakfast discussions with topics focusing on labels, agents, publishers and more. Business events will continue on Friday with at least two visits to New York City based companies such as BandsinTown, Facebook, Soundcloud, YouTube, Twitter etc. Canadian delegates will also have the opportunity to participate in informal events and networking activities.
CIMA will also organize a Canadian Blast showcase on Thursday evening at Arlene’s Grocery with showcases from Hot Garbage, St.Arnaud, Jasmine Trails, Caveboy, Ice Cream and Devarrow. This will be preceded by a networking mixer at the venue.
Canadian companies attending New Colossus Festival who are interested in participating in CIMA’s business events can contact Jenia Schukov (firstname.lastname@example.org) for more information.
CIMA gratefully acknowledges and thanks our generous sponsors and partners the Foundation Assisting Canadian Talent on Recordings (FACTOR), the Government of Canada (through the Canada Music Fund), Ontario Creates, the Radio Starmaker Fund, Re:Sound, The SOCAN Foundation and Stingray Music.
