‘Canada House’ (formerly known as the Canadian Blast) returns to official Great Escape festival proceedings this year, once again presenting Canada’s hottest and rising independent artists to expectant new music fans over three glorious days of showcases in the setting of Brighton’s celestial Green Door Store venue.
‘Canada House’ is a showcase platform hosted by CIMA – the Canadian Independent Music Association, which visits industry conferences and new music festivals all over the world with hand-picked artists, casting a spotlight onto Canada’s thriving independent music scene - widely acknowledged as an incubator and hotbed of musical talent, to international audiences.
A ‘Canada House’ performance often acts as a spearhead in helping bands to crack international markets and the Great Escape is a golden opportunity to make a dent in the all-important influential UK music scene. Management and indie labels will be look to strike deals with fellow industry professionals such as UK record releases, finding PR & Marketing representation, distribution, booking UK gigs and tours, licensing their music and further consolidating plans for world domination. Illustrious CB alumni include; Alvvays, Hannah Georgas, Ben Caplan, Arkells, Jenn Grant, Andy Shauf and the Beaches to name a few.
