This week CIMA will be conducting our first-ever mission to Mexico surrounding the FIMPRO Festival and Conference. Running from May 22-28, CIMA will be bringing a delegation of seven Canadian companies to Mexico City and Guadalajara for a showcase and business initiative. Mexico is the largest live music market in Latin America and the 2nd largest recorded music market after Brazil.

The initiative will begin as a pre-event in Mexico City on Tuesday, May 22, at the Canadian Embassy where Canadian delegates will get the opportunity to meet with international guests for one-on-one meetings, panels and a networking luncheon. This will be followed a Canadian Blast showcase presented by Music Export Canada and QUEBECREATES at Bajo Circuito (Bajo Puente De Circuito Interior) featuring Random Recipe and Amanda Martinez. There will be a Meet the Canadians reception prior to the showcase at 6PM for music industry executives.

Canadian delegates will then have the opportunity to participate in the FIMPRO Festival and Conference running from May 23-26 in Guadalajara. Delegates will participate in organized B2B meeting sessions, panel discussions, targeted meetings with key professionals, networking receptions and more.

On Friday, May 25, 2018 Music Export Canada and QUEBECREATES will present the Canadian Blast showcase at FIMPRO at Via Libertad (Colonias 221, Americana, 44160 Guadalajara, Jal). The showcase will kick off with a Meet the Canadian cocktail reception at 8:00PM. Performances include: FRANKIIE, Le Couleur and Random Recipe.

CIMA gratefully acknowledges the generous support of our Canadian partners and sponsors: Canadian Music Week (CMW), the Foundation Assisting Canadian Talent on Recordings (FACTOR), the Government of Canada (through the Canada Music Fund), Harvard Broadcasting, Ontario Media Development Corporation (OMDC), Stingray Music, SOCAN Foundation, SODEC and the Radio Starmaker Fund.
