The NSMW Mind Over Music (#MOM2013) Conference will bring together top executives in music, broadcasting, multimedia, marketing and technology to examine and discuss the music industry. Industry professionals from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Germany, Austria, the UK and across North America will gather to discuss our business of music.

The conference will offer a series of speed meetings, presentations, panels, workshops, round tables, interviews, pitch sessions, mixers and keynote speakers. #MOM 2013 at NSMW is where the Nova Scotian music industry meets. As the industry reforms around direct artist-to-fan relationships, managers must focus on accepting consumer behavior and looking for as many ways as possible to monetize it. In practice does this mean that managers must recognize that every artist is a standalone business that generates income from multiple revenue streams? Is the manager's job to create those businesses and run them well? Should managers treat artists as commodities or should they value the artist-fan relationship as highly as traditional rights? How does the next generation manager align with a brave new DIY world?
