Laurie Brown is an Alberta-based artist manager and management consultant with clients stretching across Canada. In addition to artist management duties for Western Canadian Music Association (WCMA) award-winning folk musician Joal Kamps, and Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) and Juno nominated country artist Adam Gregory, her current client list includes Canadian Folk Music Association (CFMA) award-winning artist Rebecca Lappa, soul songstress Ann Vriend, celtic rock supergroup Derina Harvey Band, roots group The Doll Sisters, country group Jason Hastie and the Alibi and blues master Rooster Davis. Laurie also offers grant writing/coaching and project management, and teaches workshops on grant writing and DIY management. She is also a juror for FACTOR and Alberta Music and for other industry related competitions and events such as Peak Performance Project and Road to Indie Week Alberta. Laurie is a graduate of the Artist Manager/Music Business Program at Berklee College of Music and the Artist Manager Program at Canada's Music Incubator. She is also a member of the Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA), Western Canadian Music Association (WCMA), Alberta Music, Music Managers Forum (MMF) and Association of Country Music in Alberta (ACMA) where she was nominated for 'Industry Person of the Year' in 2015.
