Keynote Speaker - Amit Nerurkar (Bandcamp - Platform & Distribution):

Amit has been working in the music industry for over 20 years, across all facets of the business: distribution, artist management & record labels. He spent four years as GM of Mass Appeal Records, where he oversaw US certified Gold records, "Old English" by Young Thug, Freddie Gibbs & A$AP Ferg and "Nobody Speak", the collaboration between DJ Shadow and Run Jewels. Subsequently, he has worked directly with and released albums by Run The Jewels, DJ Shadow, Dessa & Freddie Gibbs + Madlib, and still manages Say She She & Hannah Gill and in the past managed Wiki, Mr Muthafuckin’ eXquire & YGTUT, amongst others. He works as the Hip Hop Ambassador in Bandcamp's Artist & Labels outreach team.

Meagan Davidson (Tiny Kingdom Music - Label & Management)

Meagan Davidson has been an advocate for the Canadian music industry all throughout her career. After starting out in live production, she moved on to the Music BC Industry Association, where she worked to grow the BC music economy through local, domestic, and international development programs for artists and industry. In 2017, Meagan and her best friend Savannah Wellman launched Tiny Kingdom, an independent Canadian record label and artist management company. The expansion into a label in 2020 sees Tiny Kingdom added to a very short list of female-owned labels in Canada. Their drive and compassion is called upon by a variety of clients to assist with talent curation, grant writing, and consultation services. They also spearhead Women In Music British Columbia, a partner of Women In Music Canada, which aims to foster gender equality in the BC music industry through the support and advancement of women and gender minorities in creative and professional roles. Meagan is currently based in Toronto with her pup Benny.

Jesse Northey (Victory Pool - Label & Management)

Jesse Northey graduate of the University of Lethbridge (Bachelor of Music - Digital Audio Arts), and spent the first decade of his career living and working in Alberta as an audio engineer, musician, grant writer, and program manager for Alberta Music. From there he moved to Toronto to pursue artist management including working at Six Shooter Records with clients William Prince and July Talk as an artist management associate before starting his own company Victory Pool.

Victory Pool, a record label and management company is helping to shepherd an impressive variety of acts such as Witch Prophet, Ellen Froese, The Deep Dark Woods, Moonriiver, Ghostkeeper, Altameda, and Ombiigizi, among others. They have been in operation since 2020.

Michael Upfold (Norfside Entertainment)

Founded in 2017, Norfside Entertainment started as a live music agency that focused on working with underground and mainstream Canadian artists. In his first two years Michael booked shows for artists such as Karl Wolf, Yung Tory, Blacka Da Don, Smiley, Casper TNG, Phresher and more. In January 2020, Michael was hired by a boutique record label out of Los Angeles named International Artist Agency. Michael ran the administration and the Day-To-Day agenda for Pressa, Lud Foe, And Zai1k. In December 2020 Pressa released one of his most successful projects to date “Gardner Express EP” with his hit single “Attachments” Ft. ft. Coi Leray, in which Michael helped A&R and run the entire campaign. In October 2020 Lud Foe released his highly anticipated album “Guns Up Fund Up” With the hit singles “Show U Off” ft Lil Uzi Vert and “Composure” ft. Lil Durk. In November 2021 Zai1k released his debut project “Hard 2 Tell” the single “Real” which led Zai1k getting signed to Columbia Records & notably one of the best agents in the business Cara Lewis. In January 2022 Zai1k released the record-breaking TikTok Duet “Don’t Text Me When You’re Drunk” With Stacey Ryan. Aside from administration, Michael currently co-manages Canadian singer/songwriter, “Benita” after her debut project "Scarlett" success and being recently Juno nominated, performing on Manifestos main stage and recently opening for Jon Vinyl on his tour in Los Angeles. Norfside Entertainment has evolved into a boutique management & entertainment administration agency with clients in Canada, United States, Europe and Australia.
