There are many reasons and methods to distribute your music throughout the industry. However, when it comes to sharing with publishers, music supervisors’, labels and more it’s crucial to have your metadata properly organized. Join CIMA alongside Marc, Kim and Brad as they share their experiences and advice when it comes to music-sharing best practices and setting yourself up for success.

Roundtable

In addition to the webinar CIMA will host a Roundtable session in which music industry professionals will have the opportunity to communicate candidly and share their experiences related to music-sharing best practices. This conversation will provide an open-ended forum for our members and is strictly limited to 30 participants. If you have any questions you’d like to cover please include them in the registration session.

Bios:

Marc Brown (he/him)

Marc is the founder of Byta / byta.com. Run as a distributed team across 3 continents, Byta enables sending and receiving of digital audio in a clean, simple and secure way. Built for everyone working with music today.

Marc got his start at murderecords, Canada’s premier artist owned label during the mid 90s. After working in A&R at the legendary London indie Creation Records, then at Alan McGee’s Poptones, Marc started his own boutique UK radio promotion company off the back of his success with The Hives.

Marc currently lives and works in Stockholm, Sweden.

Kim Temple (she/her)

Kim Temple is Director of Licensing & Publishing at Six Shooter Records and President of High Priestess Publishing. She has over 20 years of experience in publishing, rights management, creative pitching, sync licensing, and royalty management for film & TV composers. She is also Senior Manager of Industry & Member Relations at Music Publishers Canada.

Brad Machry (he/him) – Royalty Gnomes

When kids discover music culture, some dream of the spotlight thrilling crowds with big vocals or big hair. Yet while Brad Machry's schoolmates were forming bands, he was already living his dream designing posters and wrangling merch. Now the Founder of Royalty Gnomes, a music services company for an evolving industry, Brad's previous experience includes 5 years as Manager of Royalties & Licensing at Canada’s original independent label True North Records, distributor IDLA, and parent company Linus Entertainment where he oversaw artists’ revenue streams and secured music placements for Film and Television. Under his fledgling Royalty Gnomes banner, Brad is excited to share his knowledge and experience from more than two decades in the music industry including work with: CMRRA, ole Rights Management, The Glenn Gould Foundation, The McAuley Boys, NuFunk Concerts, KJ Sawka, and Mac Graham.
