More about the artists:

Anthony OKS (MB)

Anthony OKS uses hip hop to reflect, entertain, and teach. With roots in Nigeria, Sierra Leone, and his hometown, Winnipeg, the founding member of The Lytics offers up introspective and personal solo projects with an eye on world issues and family history. He digs deep into themes of Black perseverance and pride, as well as personal growth and relationships of all forms. Regardless of the message, every OKS hook is rooted in love. On his EPs, Take Time (2019) and In the Garden (2021) he oscillates between energetic bangers and slowed-out chill, drawing on the innovative and multi-dimensional stylings of Canadian producer, Paalsh. Anthony OKS is a thinker and a seeker, a good-time provider who also makes you consider your place in the world.

Iamtheliving (BC)

Multi-talented, Juno award nominee Rian Peters, better known as IAMTHELIVING, was raised in Peckham, South East London, UK, before re-locating to Vancouver, Canada, which he now calls home. IAMTHELIVING’s international perspective and wealth of life experiences shine through in his musical output- a fast-growing collection of richly written, vibrant songs that emanate authentic emotion. In an era often too fixated on formulas and catering to short attention spans, IAMTHELIVING stands out as an artist who is deliberate, taking his time with his output. His songwriting is focused and poised, and it emanates intentionality- it’s as if he wastes not a note, with each element of his songs combining to contribute to a cohesive, meaningful whole. A singer, songwriter, producer, visionary, and all-around performer, he is a multi-faceted artist committed to advancing his craft, while always remaining heartfelt and genuine. Approaching his creativity from a humanist perspective, he draws inspiration from seeing how music can connect people from all walks of life, encouraging others to live healthy, positive lives.

Soran (QC)

Half-Japanese and half-French, Soran is the architect of a new vision of pop and R&B. After making waves on The Voice, he gained popularity with his six-track EP, generating over 10 million streams. Simultaneously, he lent his voice to HENRI PFR's song "Going On", which achieved a gold certification in Belgium. He reached viral impact with tracks such as "IG Comments Song" and recorded 15 million streams by participating in the song "Julia" by GAMPER & DADONI. He really took off with a series of singles for Universal Music Canada and his first EP under their label in 2022, Space Boy.

Nicky MacKenzie (BC)

West Coast based singer/songwriter Nicky MacKenzie channels self growth through songwriting by turning her thoughts into poetry and melodic stories that grab the ear. Following in the stylistic footsteps of such evocative singers as Alicia Keys, Amy Winehouse, and Lauryn Hill, her soothing, jazzy vocals combined with poppy melodies always leave listeners in a trance. Originally from Salt Spring Island, 21-year-old Nicky went from playing, writing and performing music at a young age to recording her upcoming sophomore album in LA. Nicky is honing in her craft and is ready to start wowing the world with her haunting voice and soulful melodies in 2022.

Kellie Loder (NL)

There is something truly extraordinary about Juno award nominee, Kellie Loder. It can be found in their poignant and timely lyrics set against magical melodies. It can also be found in the singer/songwriter’s electrifying live shows, inspiring profound emotion in listeners. You’ll cry, you’ll laugh, and you’ll tell your friends about it. CBC q’s Tom Power proclaims “If I were a betting man, I’d bet the house on Kellie Loder being the next big thing out of Newfoundland”.

Loder is was awarded first runner up on the 2022 season of Canada’s Got Talent. Included in their long list of accolades are recent 2022 ECMA nominations for Songwriter of the Year as well as Fan’s Choice Entertainer of the Year. They were named the 2021 Ron Hynes Songwriter of the Year at the Music NL Awards this past December and received a 2021 ECMA win for their groundbreaking music video and song “Molded Like A Monster”.
