This January, CIMA will return to Hackney for the 2024 edition of UK Americana Music Week taking place from January 22-25. UK Americana Music Week is a conference, awards show and music festival with live Americana music from the US, Austria, Spain, Denmark, the UK and more. The day conference consists of 200+ international promoters, artists and festival owners.

As a growing genre, and one very popular in Canada, Americana (a combination of roots, blues, folk and alt country music) is an important market to expand on in the UK for the Canadian Music industry. AmericanaFest UK is keen to build the Canadian presence in the UK with a showcase and business initiative. This presents a lucrative opportunity for the vast number of Canadian music companies who represent this genre of music in Canada.

Please note: A radius clause will be in effect for this events. Artists cannot perform at a London venue 10 days prior or 10 days after this event.

Mission Details:

Canadian businesses in attendance will get the chance to showcase their artists in front of Americana buyers and industry in the UK.

A business initiative will be set up to connect the Canadian business representatives with UK industry, media and buyers through one on one meetings, round table sessions and networking events during the conference.

This Mission Includes:

• Showcase opportunity at UK Americana Music Week 2024 in partnership with various provincial music industry associations
• Possible panel opportunities for Canadian business reps
• Organized round table sessions
• Targeted meetings with key professionals in the region
• Networking Receptions
• A full day of business events (panels, B2B sessions etc) with the Canadian High Commission in London prior to the conference (TBC)
• Canadian showcase promotion

How to Apply:

CIMA will be partnering with various provincial music industry associations for a Canadian showcase during UK Americana Music Week. This opportunity is currently open to 6-8 Canadian artists who are export-ready and fit the Americana genre. Each artist must have an on-site business representative to attend the conference and participate in the business events/meetings. Final selection of the artists will be at the discretion of the UK Americana Music Week’s festival selection committees.

This mission is open to qualifying CIMA member companies as well as qualifying non-member companies. 

The company will be charged the following rate for this business and promotional opportunity:

Showcasing & Business Package: $500 (CIMA Members)

Showcasing & Business Package: $900 (Non-CIMA Members – if you wish to join CIMA prior to this event please contact samr@cimamusic.ca)

Business Package Only: $150 (CIMA Members)

Business Package Only: $350 (Non-CIMA Members)
