His large and small screen experience includes movies like The Freshmen, Superbad, and TV shows Grey’s Anatomy, the Tonight Show, Bizarre, and more.

ALMA RECORDS, founded in 1991, is an established independent “music first” Canadian label with a roster full of talented Grammy nominated and multiple Juno award winning artists. Our focus is on artist development and production in jazz, world, latin, pop/rock, R&B, soul, blues and classical. Emily is the Synchronization Representative at Aporia Records. She previously has worked at both the Montreal and Toronto locations of music production and songwriting house Apollo Studios and the Toronto office of post production company Deluxe.

Margaret McGuffin currently is the Vice President, Strategy and Business Development at Canadian Musical Reproduction Rights Agency Ltd. (CMRRA)  Margaret has extensive experience in research, policy development, strategy and business planning with a focus on the collective management of royalties.  She has worked primarily in the sound recording and music publishing industries.

CMRRA  is a music licensing collective representing music rightsholders who range in size from large multinational music publishers to individual songwriters. Together, they own or administer the vast majority of songs recorded, sold and broadcast in Canada.

Entertainment One - Jay Devonish

With over 10 years experience as a Label Manager at eOne Canada (formerly KOCH) Jay is responsible for the day to day business in Canada for labels such as: eOne Music, Death Row, Duck Down, Stones Throw, IceH20, Now Again, Madlib Invazion, Soul Temple, SomeOthaShip, Tuff Gong, VP and Greensleeves. In addition, in his role as A&R, Jay recruits new labels and artists for licensing & distribution via eOne Music Canada, specifically specializing in Urban and EDM. Lastly, Jay heads up eOne Music Canada's Licensing & Sync division, pitching for eOne represented music for placement on TV, Film, Video Games & Advertising.

For the last 7 years Jay has also been an instructor at the reputable Harris Institute teaching a class on Independent Distribution and Retail Marketing. He also serves as the Chairman of the CARAS Juno Rap Advisory Committee and recently joined the faculty teaching the Business of Music at the non-profit organization The Remix Project.

Lisa Stewart is co-founder and label director of File Under: Music. Being one of the few one-stop pitching houses in British Columbia, Lisa pitches not only for acts on the label but for over forty non-exclusive clients, and has seen key placements in shows such as Californication, Being Human, Grimm, Warehouse 13, Royal Pains, American Idol, and Hockey Wives.

Gordon "Comissioner Gordon" Williams is a multi-Grammy award winner who has taken many paths[ during his musical career and has proven successful in many ventures from multiplatinum producer to Senior executive at Sony Music. Resume includes multiple Grammy Awards and numerous Gold and Platinum albums.

Comissioner Gordon was responsible for the development/production/mixing of top selling artists Amy Winehouse, Lauryn Hill, Joss Stone, Damian and Steven Marley to name a few.

Khaled Verjee is a graduate of London School of Economics. He worked as a corporate lawyer and investment banker for 6 years before founding Marked Music Inc (a management company) and HOME Music Co, a joint venture with Nettwerk Music Group.

HOME Music Co is a new record label HQ’d in Toronto, Canada which acts as a joint venture with Nettwerk Music Group. It currently has a roster of 4 active clients (and an extensive back catalogue) – The Trews, Colin Munroe, Kalle Mattson and RAINES (who just signed a worldwide license deal with Island US / Virgin UK)

Jones is an award-winning co-founder of Canadian indie label and artist development firm, Pipe & Hat, known for their diverse and eclectic roster. Graham Stairs has twenty-seven years of management experience and is president of Popguru Sound & Vision Ltd. He started off as a musician and then moved into A&R, working for such labels as EMI and True North Records. He currently manages the Wilderness of Manitoba, Grand Analog, Delhi 2 Dublin, Martha and the Muffins, Lake Forest and Red Horse Rebellion.

Popguru Sound & Vision was founded in 1998 by Graham Stairs and is a fully integrated music company whose core business is artist management. Sonic Unyon - Tim Potocic

 

Tim Potocic is co-owner and president of 21-year old Sonic Unyon Records in Hamilton, including inhouse labels Sonic Unyon records, Sonic Unyon Metal and Goodfellow Records. Potocic has sat on the boards of CIRPA and CARAS and has enjoyed a Canadian Music Industry Award for label of the year, a Hamilton Entrepreneur of the Year award, and having several of his artists acquire Juno nominations. Potocic currently sits on the boards of the CIMA “ Canadian Independent Music assoc”, Downtown Hamilton BIA, Hamilton Arts Council and the Cobalt Arts Service organization. Sonic Unyon has grown into one of Canada’s leading independent record companies releasing over 160 new recordings by a wide variety of acts such as Aereogramme, Augury, A Northern Chorus, Change of Heart, Cursed, Dinner Belles, Hayden, Oh Suzanna, Suicidal Angels, Ringo DeathStarr, Sacrifice, Sianspheric, Spirits, Simply Saucer, Treble Charger, Terra Lightfoot, Teenagehead , Tristan Psionic, Tricky Woo, Young Rival, Frank Black & the Catholics, and Voivod.

In 2009/10 Sonic Unyon have also expanded into the Live Music business with Tim Potocic as the Supercrawl festivals lead organizer. The passed year Supercrawl attendance 2014 grew to over 150,000. Supercrawl has won Tourism “festival of the year” awards 3 years straight with multiple awards in 2012 including Entertainment ambassador of the year 2011 - Tim Potocic. 2015 proves to be an other expansion year as Sonic Unyon continues its foray into the Live music business. Currently, Sonic Unyon has opened its first venue - Mills Hardware @ 95 King St E. In 2015-16 Sonic Unyon will be focusing on the events side of the business with Supercrawl expansions, Because Beer, Hamilton Blues Festival, Seven Sundays concert series and some new event properties being developed to launch in 2016. Among running successful Music operations Tim has also been involved in property redevelopment and management in downtown Hamilton with the purchase of the first property in 1996. The partners in Sonic Unyon have acquired and currently operate and manage 10 additional properties in the James St N area with over 100,000 sq ft under their care!!
