The American Association of Independent Music (A2IM) is a non-profit organization that serves as the sole, unified voice representing a broad coalition of music labels from the independent music community in the United States. A sister organization to CIMA, A2IM works as a portal for its independent music label members to access opportunities for commerce, education and advocacy/lobbying. Held annually, A2IM Indie Week brings together these opportunities for the benefit of their label members, and are extending an exclusive, limited invitation to Canadian independent labels to participate!

This year, A2IM will be hosting their 11th edition of A2IM Indie Week 2016 in New York City from June 13-16, 2016. Last year, A2IM Indie Week attracted over 850 delegates - including A2IM members from 24 states as well as international guests from 15 countries!

CIMA is pleased to announce that we will be joining A2IM's Indie Week 2016 and organizing a business development mission to NYC for Canadian independent music companies. This mission s an excellent opportunity for labels and managers to network with key international contacts across a variety of industries.

Showcasing Opportunity: Reeperbahn Festival, a sponsor of A2IM this year, will be offering 1-2 Canadian bands the possibility to be selected by them to showcase on the Wednesday evening. Eligible bands will be chosen by the Reeperbahn Festival.

This is a great opportunity for bands that have a little bit of a buzz going on around them in Canada or in New York. Reeperbahn will be strongly supporting and promoting this show with their PR/marketing teams.
