The Special Olympics World Games will be in Los Angeles this year from July 25 - August 2, bringing together 7,000 athletes, 3,000 coaches and an anticipated 500,000 spectators to watch 25 Olympic-style sports in venues across the Los Angeles area.

As a result, the Consulate General of Canada in Los Angeles is organizing a unique and exciting opportunity for a Canadian artist to perform and support these great Olympians in their pre-event celebrations.

The Consul General will be hosting a 500 person Canadian reception on Monday July 27th 2015 at the Official Residence of the Consul General. Envisioned as a fun BBQ from 7pm onwards, the evening will be held in honour of Canada's team at the Special Olympics. Attendees of this reception will include Canadian athletes and their families, coaches, supporters and VIPs from the LA community.

As the Special Olympians are big supporters of music, the organizers are looking for an artist to perform for the athletes at this reception. The set will be approximately 30 minutes in length.

Showcase Criteria:

  • The organizers are looking for a lively band with a positive message to kick off the games for them - something fun, celebratory and great for a party atmosphere!
  • The artist must be Canadian.
  • Preference will be given to an artist already living or touring in LA at that time.

If you’d like to have your artist support these great Olympians in their pre-event celebration, please complete the brief application by Sunday, June 7, 2015 at midnight.

Please click here to submit your application now.

Please note: This is not a CIMA or Canadian Blast event - we are assisting the organizers in locating Canadian talent who is willing and available to perform.
