Canadian Grammy Night: A Showcase and Celebration of Canadian Musical Excellence

On Thursday, February 5 2015, CIMA will be presenting our Annual Pre-Grammy Showcase, called “Canadian Grammy Night: The Showcase and Celebration of Canadian Musical Excellence.”

In partnership with the Canadian Consulate General in Los Angeles, this event will be held at the Official Residence in Los Angeles, and is designed to celebrate the 57th anniversary of the GRAMMY Awards® as well as highlight our great Canadian musical talent to key industry and media representatives in Los Angeles. This event is accessible on an exclusive, invitation-only basis.

Thank you to The Consul General of Canada Mr. James Villeneuve & Ms. Kim Walker for their generosity in hosting this event.

Billed as an evening in honour of current and past GRAMMY® nominees and winners, the evening will be co-hosted by Joey Scoleri and Hannah Simone.

CIMA is pleased to unveil our two showcasing artists for this event:

  • Yukon Blonde (Nevado/Dine Alone Records)
  • In-Flight Safety (Night Danger/ Slow Grinding Music Management)

The evening will also feature a special performance by Chantal Kreviaziuk!

Yukon Blonde

Yukon Blonde (Vancouver, BC) recently finished recording their highly anticipated (currently untitled) third album to be released in June 2015. This next album is the follow up to the JUNO Award Nominated Tiger Talk (released 2012) and expands on their trademark alternative pop sound. For fans of: My Morning Jacket, Tame Impala.

In-Flight Safety

The band’s fourth studio album, Conversationalist  was built, literally and figuratively, on the backs of thousands of conversations between Mullane and Nicholson. Inspired by contemporary bands like Wild Nothing, The Walkmen and DIIV, In-Flight Safety created an album that is true to their history, but their most adventurous and honest.
