A2IM’s new CEO is Richard James Burgess
The American Association of Independent Music (A2IM) has announced that Richard James Burgess has been appointed as CEO. Burgess succeeds Molly Neuman, who had been serving as interim president, and is the permanent replacement for Rich Bengloff.
Prior to taking the role of CEO at A2IM, Burgess oversaw all business activities for the non-profit label Smithsonian Folkways Recordings, served as an adjunct professor at Omega Studios’ School of Applied Recording Arts and Sciences in Maryland, authored numerous books on music production and served as the board chairman for A2IM. In addition, he is recognized as an innovator in the electronic music field in the 70s and 80s, having begun his career as a musician/artist/songwriter and producer.
On behalf of CIMA and our membership, we’d like to welcome Richard James Burgess and congratulate him on his new role at A2IM. We look forward to continuing to work together on important issues of mutual importance.
