The iHeartRadio Much Music Video Awards took place at Much Music headquarters on Queen Street West in Toronto Sunday night, June 19.

Hosted by Gigi Hadid, Liz Trinnear and Tyrone Edwards, the Awards were simulcast on CTV, Much Music and Bell’s new Francophone youth station, VRAK TV.

The red carpet segment began with an exuberant performance from Thunder Bay’s Coleman Hell. Amelia Artists’ Tegan and Sara, meanwhile, arrived to the carpet riding a double-decker bus packed with other pairs of twins like themselves.

During the award ceremonies, Pirates Blend’s Grandtheft picked up Best EDM Dance Video of the Year for "Quit This City" (featuring Lowell, from Arts & Crafts and UTA).

The Strumbellas were likewise honoured with Best Rock/Alternative Video for “Spirits” (off their 2016 Six Shooter Records full-length, Hope).

The festivities also included high-energy performances from UTA's Shawn Hook and July Talk.

Black Box Recordings’ SonReal took part in the awards as a presenter, and summed up the evening well by saying, “I just heart everything”.

After partnering with iHeartMedia in January 2016, all Bell Media programming such as the MMVAs can be accessed on a complete range of mobile, smartphone, tablet, gaming and wearable devices.
